Hydrogen Fuel Cell

Definition: A fuel cell is a device that converts the chemical energy from a fuel into electricity through a chemical reaction with oxygen or another oxidizing agent. Hydrogen is the most common fuel.

Hydrogen fuel cells are a new technology that reduce the emissions of greenhouse gases to almost zero and, because of that, can transform the global energy economy by offering long-term potential. According to some researches, the market for fuel cells and other related products is projected to reach about USD 29 billion by 2011, considering the global basis, since it is applicable to some transportation systems, portable power, and power generation.

I could not find which country uses hydrogen fuel cells yet. This field of science is still in development. However, many places are investing in this technology such as China, Russia, and Brazil.
